Name letter (Namakshar)
The syllable a name traditionally starts with, from the Moon's nakshatra and pada at birth.
Each nakshatra has four padas (quarters), and each pada has a syllable. Families often choose a baby's name starting with it, or use it as the 'rashi name' for rituals.
For example
Moon in Anuradha pada 1 gives 'Na', so a name like Naman or Naina.

हर नक्षत्र के चार चरण होते हैं और हर चरण का एक अक्षर। परिवार अक्सर बच्चे का नाम इसी अक्षर से रखते हैं, या पूजा-पाठ में इसे राशि नाम की तरह इस्तेमाल करते हैं।
