तिथि
Tithi
The lunar date: which day it is in the Moon's cycle. There are 30 in a month.
A tithi is the time the Moon takes to move 12 degrees ahead of the Sun, a little under a day. Fifteen tithis lead up to the full moon (Purnima) and fifteen to the new moon (Amavasya).
Most festivals and fasts are set by tithi: Ekadashi fasts, Ganesh Chaturthi, Janmashtami and so on.
For example
'Shukla Ekadashi' is the 11th day of the waxing moon, a popular fasting day.
