Choghadiya
The day and night each split into eight parts, each good, neutral or bad for starting things.
It is the quickest way to pick a good time. Amrit, Shubh and Labh are good; Char is fine for travel; Udveg, Kaal and Rog are avoided for new work.
Each part is about 1½ hours, measured from sunrise (for the day) and sunset (for the night).
For example
Want to sign a deal this afternoon? Pick a Labh or Amrit slot that isn't in Rahu Kaal.
